Calculate the molarity of a 100 ml solution that contains 5.6 g potassium hydroxide (Mwt = 56 g/ mole).

Molarity = (number of moles)/ (volume of solution in liters)

Number of moles = mass/ molar mass

Number of moles = 5.6/ 56 = 0.1 mole

Volume of solution in liters = 100/ 1000 = 0.1 L

Molarity = 0.1/ 0.1 = 1 Molar
